This week we welcome Rev Mary Taylor to lead our worship. Those of you who know Mary know how busy she is with many different duties and interests. One of those is an involvement with Morningside United Church in Edinburgh, which is where Eric Liddell, the Scottish athlete and missionary worshipped. Eric Liddell’s story was made famous by the film ‘Chariots of Fire’, and this year marks the 100th anniversary of his gold medal win in the Paris Olympics in 1924. Morningside Church and The Eric Liddell Community are recognising this centenary with a series of special events and activities. Mary is kindly bringing a flavour of the celebrations to Wooler as we think about Eric Liddell’s life of Christian service under the title ‘A legend. A legacy. A lifetime of inspiration.’ Everyone is welcome at Wooler URC.
