The travellers to Emmaus felt like their world had ended. They couldn’t picture a crucified Messiah, they didn’t believe that someone could rise again. It took an encounter with Jesus to restructure their imaginations. They began to see the whole world through new eyes, through resurrection lenses. Today we explore how Jesus’ resurrection enables us to reimagine the future God has for us, for his church, for the world, a glorious future that passes through pain on the road to freedom.
