It’s the second Sunday of Lent, and we’re delighted that Diane Whittaker is leading our worship for the first time, ably assisted by Alan and Paulette. After the Moderator’s visit last week, we’re picking up our Lenten theme which is ‘The rest is worship’. Paulette and Joyce introduced this subject a couple of weeks ago and we’ll continue with it until Easter.
So as we continue to rebuild our lives after the interruption of the Covid pandemic, it can seem that we are busier than ever. Many of the things that were going on before lockdown have re-started, but other things have also begun and are layered on top. Many people feel weary, dissatisfied, burnt out. If you feel like that – even in a small way – let’s turn to God’s Word together this Lent. What does the bible teach us about rest?
This week, Diane will be thinking about Jesus’ invitation to rest. You may well notice a change in gear as we worship this Lent. In our services there will be plenty of time to be quiet before God, to slow down, to listen to Him. Perhaps more silence than we are used to – but so often that’s when God can speak to us. So come. Come and be refreshed as we rest in worship this Lent.
