During Advent we become familiar with various images that the prophets used in order to tell their listeners about the promise of God to be found in the coming Messiah. Isaiah’s prophesies are rich in such imagery, and this Sunday Lucy Cooke invites us to consider a verse from Isaiah 35 where the prophet tells us that “a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness”. What does he mean? what is this ‘way of holiness’, and where does it lead?
Do join us as we explore this image and think about our own Advent journey towards the rapidly approaching celebration of the birth of Jesus.
Everyone is welcome at Wooler URC.
