Parables of the Kingdom
Jesus came to return all people to the way God wanted us to live; He came to establish the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus described the characteristics of this Kingdom by using parables – stories using pictures of everyday things that His hearers would understand. The parables still convey deep truths today, and with all that’s going on in the world right now, we really need to build God’s Kingdom here.
Do join us as we explore together what it might look like to see God’s Kingdom grow.
We meet in person in the Church building at 11am every Sunday, or you can watch our livestream at a time to suit you. Just follow the links at the bottom of the page.
Welcome to Wooler URC!
Our church is a worshipping community of people from different backgrounds and many varied walks of life. Everyone is welcome here! Every Sunday we meet together in church and online to learn more about Jesus and sing praises to God. There are also opportunities to carry our lifelong journey of learning into the week with our Bible studies and morning prayers. Have a look at our Church Life page which gives more details. We believe that part of the calling of our church is to use our time and resources to serve our community in whatever way we can. We are all made in God’s image, and by serving each other we are also serving Him. Fliss Barker is our Community Minister, and amongst many other things she runs our Warm Welcome project which provides a welcoming space for anyone to use. We continue to pray for our community, and life in all its fullness. If you would like someone to talk with you or pray for you, do get in touch. You can phone or text us on the number above, email us, or click on the ‘I would like prayer…’ button below
