A special evening for members and friends of Wooler URC
Who wants the Church to grow? Hopefully we all do!
Throughout 2025 we are praying, planning and preparing for our Church in Wooler to grow. We believe that God is at work in our community, and as His followers and His servants we want to be open and available to serve Him in the place where we live and worship. We’re taking the prayer seriously when we say ‘Your Kingdom come’, but know that we have a part to play in making that happen.
In late 2023, two of our Elders took part in a conference about Church growth and returned to Wooler enthused and excited about the future for our congregation. Thoughts and ideas were shared with the church through the early summer of 2024, and it was agreed to make ‘growth’ our main focus for 2025.
We want to grow in three ways:
- To grow in numbers – we would like to fill our Church with people!
- To grow in Spiritual commitment – we have a desire to walk more closely with Jesus as His disciples;
- To grow in service to our local community – we were made for service and long to share God’s love with those around us.
Our evening on 22 January is to share and develop those plans with the whole church. This is not something for a small select group to do – it’s something for everyone to be involved in. We’re not necessarily planning to do lots and lots of extra things that exhaust us all, but we are looking to be more effective in the things that we already do.
So do come along for an informative and hopefully exciting evening. Who wants the Church to grow? We all do!
