“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” These are Paul’s words to the Christians in Colossae, which are all the remarkable when we remember that Paul was under house arrest in Rome when he wrote them. He’s sending them a ‘postcard’ that tells them to keep things simple; focus on Jesus – don’t complicate life by adding extra rules or by trying to be extra holy. Be gentle, kind, patient and play your part.
What would your life look like if you were ‘clothed in Christ’? How different would our Church be if we truly clothed ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience?
