At the start of Advent we meet together to prepare ourselves once more for the celebration of the birth of Jesus – Emmanuel, God with us. This year we shall be taking inspiration from Sally Welch’s new book, ‘Sharing the Christmas Story’. Each week in Advent and beyond, we shall examine a different aspect of the Christmas story, beginning with ‘Promise’. How is the promise of the Messiah shared with God’s people and the waiting world?
