The seasons are undoubtedly changing, and this Sunday we start a new series as we begin a gentle and thoughtful preparation for the start of Advent at the end of next month.
The celebration of Christmas and the birth of Jesus is a pivotal point in the Christian year, but so often we arrive at it out of breath and super-stressed because of the rush of things that precede the day itself. So this year, we taking a few Sundays to consider what the Old Testament says about Jesus the Messiah. To understand how Christmas and the gift of God’s Son fits in to His great plan for humankind.
So for the next few weeks, we invite you to pause for a while. Let us look together at some texts from the Old Testament that we might sometimes skip over, and let’s understand the message of Advent and Christmas in the context of God’s over-arching love for us all from beginning to end.Everyone is welcome at Wooler URC.
