In our services we are continuing to look at people who have inspired or faith, and this week we are delighted to welcome Lucy Cooke to lead our worship. Lucy has taken as her inspiration Cardinal Clemens August Graf von Galen – Bishop of Münster (1933-1946). I confess that I had never heard of him, but the dates perhaps give us a clue to who he was. Known as ‘The Lion of Münster’, Galen fearlessly spoke out against Nazi euthanasia and denounced Gestapo lawlessness and the persecution of the Church in Nazi Germany.
Do join us on Sunday as we learn more of Galen’s fascinating story and consider how his example might inspire us to live for Jesus.
